FEBRUARY FLASH FICTION CONTEST – IT’S ELECTRIFYING!

Edison

Thomas Alva Edison was born on February 11, 1847. He held 1093 US patents and is know for his bitter rivalry with Nikola Tesla. To celebrate this we want to see your stories of brilliant invention in any genre in 1847 words or less. Read more about him on Wikipedia.

And remember… Edison never failed… he just found 10,000 ways that wouldn’t work.

(Stories do not have to pertain to Edison himself, though you are free to incorporate him in whatever way you wish, if you are inspired to do so.)

Submission Deadline: February 29. Entries should be mailed to especbooks@aol.com as a .doc, .docx, or .rtf attachment. Please include your name, story title, and contact information on your manuscript itself. If we cannot identify your entry from the file you will be disqualified. Reprints (with proper citation) are acceptable if they meet the terms of the contest, but original fiction is preferred. Winning entry will be published on the eSpec Books blog and the winner will receive a free ebook copy of the eSpec Books title of their choice. Prize can be reserved for a future book if the winner already has the available titles. Visit http://www.especbooks.com for a list of titles.
