We had so much fun with our Pony Express Flash Fiction contest that we’re holding another, which topic just happened to conveniently present itself.
Today is the 151st birthday of Nellie Bly. This intrepid journalistic pioneer is known for her record-breaking trip around the world in 72 days, as well as for her ground-breaking expose on insane asylums, which she researched by being committed for ten days.
You can learn more about Nellie here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nellie_Bly
What we want to see are the Unsung Exploits of Nellie Bly, weird western style. Again, this is a flash fiction contest. Entries must be 1510 words or less. Entries should be mailed to especbooks@aol.com as a .doc, .docx, or .rtf attachment. Please include your name, title, and contact information on your entry. Winning entry will be published on the eSpec Books blog and the winner will receive a free ebook copy of The Weird Wild West. For those of you who are already receiving a copy of that, we will work out some other comparable prize. The contest ends on May 31st
Please share the details with your friends.
Best,
Danielle
